I am eager to begin my 3rd year coaching with HEAT VBC. I have also coached for many years at the middle school level.
I am passionate about building confidence in players, while helping them develop and improve their skill level. Coaching at the foundation level of 12u is very rewarding as the girls have great development at this age.
I was a 3 sport athlete in high school and continued playing through college and beyond in intramural and rec leagues. My husband and I lived overseas for 17 years where we started our family. Upon returning to the States and settling in Appleton with our 3 children, I returned to coaching and playing frequently.
Having degrees in both Nutrition and Psychology, I believe in encouraging athletes to grow in not only skill and ability, but in proper care of their mind and body. My greatest joy as a coach is seeing each player develop in all these areas and reap the benefits of success on and off the court.
I am super excited to be Assisting Jodi with the 12's Black team this season. This season marks my 3rd year of coaching with Heat. I started out coaching in college, while I was completing my degree at UW- LaCrosse in Exercise and Sports Science. After college, I took an adventure to Texas and taught and coached volleyball, basketball, and track at the middle school level for 3 years. After having our 1st child and missing family, we moved back to Hortonville where I’ve been teaching Physical Education and coaching volleyball and basketball ever since. I am so happy to be a part of Heat. I know just how great it is from having my daughter played 3 years for Heat. I’m eager to get the season started and can’t wait to meet you all!
