14 Red Head Coach - Alex Peterson

On top of being the 14 Red Head Coach, I am also the Coaching Manager for Heat Volleyball Club and sit on the Board of Heat.
I started playing volleyball in high school for the boys team at Appleton North.  Eventually my passion for the game grew after high school staying involved in intramural volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where I completed my physical education teaching program.  I landed a job coaching volleyball in 2017 in Onalaska, WI where I was the head coach of the JV team.  After coaching JV, I had the opportunity to coach the 8th grade club team for Onalaska. Through coaching 8th grade, I truly learned what it takes to establish a foundation for fundamentals and enjoyed building relationships with each player on the team.  Now I am currently the freshman head coach at Hortonville High School and I am thrilled to be a part of Heat Volleyball!

14 Red Assistant Coach - Kim Lee

The 2020-2021 season will be my 7th season at Heat VBC.  6 seasons as Head Coach  at 11u-13u level.  This year I will be an Assistant Coach for 14 Red, can't wait!

What motivates me to coach is paying forward the knowledge of a sport that I love to the next generation.  My coaching style is for the team to work hard and play hard.  There is time to focus, but we ensure we have our fun time too.  My goal as a coach is for the team to build positive fun memories through out the season.

I am a SR Recruiting  Manager during the day and have 3 teams spread across the country that I lead.  I grew up in the Fox Valley area and met my husband of 23 years, Ben, at Appleton West.  Ben is a Firefighter with the Appleton Fire Department.  We have 2 girls, Lauren -16 and Maia - 14.

Growing up playing competitive sports myself, I know that participation as a child can have an amazing impact on shaping soft skills for life.  Various skills that are built/enhanced during competitive sports include: communication, accountability, teamwork, perserverance, self-motivation, inclusion, self-determination, self-confidence, and grit just to name a few.

On top of Coaching, this will be my 3rd season as Heat VBC's Club President and Director.  Myself, along with the amazing Heat Board and Coaching staff look forward to this being our best season yet!
